PREMIER LEAGUE - WEEK 4
Southampton vs Manchester United
Southampton is one of two teams with no points after three games in the Premier League. They host a Manchester United side that has had its own problems, losing its last two games before the international break. This game is a must-win as the pressure begins to mount on Ten Hag again.
Both sides have struggled defensively, keeping just one clean sheet in their last six games. United’s injury list is already quite substantial for such an early stage of the season. I expect them to win today, but I can also see Southampton scoring. View our Southampton vs Manchester United markets here.
Prediction: Manchester United 1x2 and Both Teams to Score @ 3.05
Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest
Liverpool aim to make it four wins from four in the Premier League when they host Nottingham Forest at Anfield. The Reds enjoyed a dominant 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford before the international break and are strong favourites to earn another three points this weekend.
Forest's steady start has been impressive. They are unbeaten in their first three games, recording a win and two draws. They have only conceded twice and will be looking to keep things tight against their superior opponents. All roads point to a comprehensive home win, but I fancy Forest to cause problems and potentially spoil the party. View our Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest markets here.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest +1.5 @2.30
Aston Villa vs Everton
After a 2-1 away win against Leicester last time out, Villa will be full of confidence as they host Everton at Villa Park. Unai Emery’s men have six points from nine, with Arsenal the only team to get the better of them so far. They face an Everton side who are facing all sorts of problems sitting at the bottom of the table. They will need to recover from conceding late goals to Bournemouth last time out to lose 3-2.
With Villa’s fixtures run about to be congested with Champions League football next week, the Villans will look to take 3 points here, and we think they will do so with minimum fuss. View our Aston Villa vs Everton markets here.
Prediction: Aston Villa -1.25 @2.19
Bournemouth vs Chelsea
Chelsea travel to the Vitality Stadium having collected just four points in their opening three matches. They will be looking to return to winning ways after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace last time out. Bournemouth will be full of confidence after coming from 2-0 down to Everton to score three goals and steal victory. They are currently unbeaten, with one win and two draws.
Chelsea have added Jadon Sancho to their ranks after signing him on loan and is likely to be involved. Cole Palmer remains a doubt after withdrawing from the England squad. Chelsea have the resources to win this game, but you can’t rule out Bournemouth, and we make them great value for the draw. View our Bournemouth vs Chelsea markets here.
Prediction: Draw 1x2 @ 3.80
Tottenham vs Arsenal
Tottenham host Arsenal in the first north London derby of the season. Spurs have lacked consistency so far this season, having accumulated just four points, the most recent result being a 2-1 away loss to Newcastle. Any positive result here could give them the confidence to kick-start their season into life.
They face an Arsenal side that was held to a 1-1 draw at home last time out to Brighton. A Declan Rice red card was a critical factor in that game, and they will hope to get back to winning ways again. The loss of Martin Odegaard while on international duty will be a huge blow to the Gunners. I expect both sides will be ensuring they don’t lose, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a cagey affair. View our Tottenham vs. Arsenal markets here.
Prediction: Under 3.0 goals @1.93
Wolves vs Newcastle
Newcastle enters this fixture off the back of a 2-1 win against the Spurs, ensuring their confidence is high as they make the trip to Molineux. Wolves picked up their first point of the season last time out away to Nottingham Forest, and we expect them to be in for a tough time against the Magpies.
This fixture tends to produce goals, with both teams scoring in eight of their last ten meetings. We expect both sides to get chances, but Newcastle is in such good form now that we can see them taking all the points. Check our Wolves vs Newcastle markets here.
Prediction: Newcastle to win and over 2.5 goals @2.74
