PREMIER LEAGUE - WEEK 24
Nottingham Forest vs Brighton
It was a frustrating result last weekend for both sides who lost their unbeaten runs with surprise losses.
Forest will be looking to get back on track as they continue to fight for a top 4 spot. A 5-0 away defeat to Bournemouth means they remain in 3rd place in the league, but the pressure is mounting from the teams below them. Prior to the loss the hosts had won 8 of their last 9 games in all competitions and remain a force to be reckoned with.
Their opponents, Brighton, had their 3-game winning streak ended by a rejuvenated Everton side last weekend. The Seagulls lie in 9th place and will be hoping for a run of games to put them in contention for a European place.
Both sides have seen high-scoring games as of late with Forest’s last 2 games yielding 5 goals. For Brighton 3 of their last 6 had at least 4 goals in it. With both sides dangerous on goal, I see value in the overs. Check our Nottingham Forest vs Brighton markets here.
Prediction – Over 2.75 goals @2.20
Wolves vs Aston Villa
Wolves will be looking to turn their recent Premier League form around as they continue to fight for survival. The hosts have lost their last 4 games, conceding 10 goals in the process while finding the net just once. To add to their woes, they will also be without Joao Gomes who was sent off last weekend.
Their opponents, Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last 5 Premier League games and are currently 8th in the league, 4 points adrift of the Champions League spots. A 4-2 win midweek over Celtic in the Champions League secured their passage to the last 16 after a top 8 finish in the group phase.
Both sides haven’t been convincing on goal by their own standards in the Premier League. Villa have failed to score over 2 goals in their last 9 games, while goals for the host’s have been a rarity as of late. I expect Villa to get the win, whilst keeping the score down. Prediction Aston Villa 1x2 & Under 3.5 goals @ 3.10
Arsenal vs Manchester City
Arsenal and Manchester City face off on Sunday in a clash that carries significant weight for both sides, albeit for different reasons. The Gunners must secure all three points to keep pace with league leaders Liverpool, who hold a six-point advantage and a game in hand. Despite a solid campaign, Arsenal’s lack of a true goalscorer remains a concern, with their late interest in Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins unlikely to materialize. Meanwhile, City find themselves in an unfamiliar battle for a top-four spot, mirroring their struggles in the 2019/20 season. Sitting 12 points off the summit and only ahead of Newcastle on goal difference, Pep Guardiola’s men are under pressure, with a loss potentially seeing them drop out of the Champions League places. WE think City have the momentum to go here and get a result. Check our Arsenal vs Manchester City markets here.
Prediction – Man City @ 3.55
Chelsea vs West Ham
Chelsea will be desperate to get back on track when they welcome former boss Graham Potter and his West Ham side to Stamford Bridge on Monday night. Enzo Maresca’s team has struggled for consistency, winning just one of their last six league games, and their recent 3-1 defeat to Manchester City highlighted ongoing defensive vulnerabilities. Meanwhile, Potter’s Hammers showed some good resilience in their 1-1 draw against Aston Villa and will be eager to claim a statement win against his old club. Injury concerns persist for both sides, with Chelsea missing key players like Romeo Lavia and Mykhailo Mudryk, while West Ham could be boosted by the potential returns of Jarrod Bowen and Summerville. Prediction – Draw @ 5.70
