PREMIER LEAGUE - WEEK 25
Brighton vs Chelsea
Just 6 days after these sides faced off against each other in the FA Cup, they will meet again in the league. The FA Cup tie saw Brighton edge past Chelsea with a 2-1 victory and the hosts will be looking for more of the same here again.
It’s been a mixed run of form for the Seagulls who have recorded 2 wins and 2 losses in their last 4 games and currently lie in 10th place in the league. Their home form in the league this season has been below par with just 3 wins from 11.
For Chelsea, they will be looking to bounce back from the defeat 6 days ago and a win would consolidate their position in the top 4.
Both sides are not shy in front of goal lately. Chelsea have scored in their last 7 games, and their last 6 games have produced 3 or more goals. Similarly, Brighton have been involved in some high-scoring games recently, including a 7-0 thumping by Nottingham Forest 2 weeks ago.
I am going for an away win in what should be a high-scoring match. Check our Brighton vs Chelsea markets here.
Prediction – Chelsea 1x2 & Over 2.5 Goals @2.98
Leicester vs Arsenal
Arsenal will be looking to bounce back after their 2-0 loss to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup last week. The Gunners had won their previous 4 games in all competitions and will be keen to get back to winning ways and keep the pressure on league leaders Liverpool.
For the hosts, they will be looking for a result as they battle relegation. The Foxes currently lie in 18th place in the league and are 2 points from safety. The hosts have lost 9 of their last Premier League games and it’s fair to say they face an uphill task here.
While it is hard to go against an Arsenal win, I feel that Leicester will set up to frustrate the visitors, which is why I see the value in the unders. Check our Leicester vs Arsenal markets here.
Prediction Arsenal 1x2 & Under 3.5 goals @2.04
Crystal Palace vs Everton
Crystal Palace have been enjoying a good run of results lately, winning 5 of their last 6 games, which included a 2-0 FA Cup win over Doncaster earlier in the week. The Eagles have been particularly impressive defensively, having kept a clean sheet in each of those 5 wins.
Despite crashing out of the FA Cup last week, Everton have been on a fine run domestically, with 3 wins and a draw in their last 4 which included a dramatic 2-2 draw with league leaders Liverpool earlier in the week.
Interestingly Crystal Palace have failed to beat Everton in their last 8 meetings (3 draws, 5 losses) and 4 of their last 6 meetings have yielded 2 or fewer goals. I expect a tight game with neither side giving up many chances. Check our Crystal Palace vs Everton markets here.
Prediction – Half Time/Full Time, Draw – Draw @4.55
Liverpool vs Wolves
Liverpool will be strong favourites at Anfield when Wolves visit, but they haven’t been looking as formidable as earlier on in the season. With 2 losses and a draw in their last 5 in all competitions, and a dwindling lead at the top, the pressure may be seeping in for the season long league leaders.
Wolves are in a dogfight at the bottom, and they’ll be motivated to put more points on the board after victory over Villa last time out in the league. It’s 2 in a row for Wolves in all competitions with an FA Cup win over Blackburn last weekend.
The handicap of +2.0 on the visitors looks tempting here. Liverpool haven’t covered this spread in the last 10 games between these 2, needing to go back to 2020 for the last time they won by more than 2. Wolves are capable of keeping it tight against, we’ll take them with a 2 goal headstart. Check Liverpool vs Wolves markets here.
Prediction – Wolves +2.0 @1.99
Tottenham vs Manchester Utd
This weekends Premier League wraps up with the battle between 13th and 14th place. In previous seasons, this could have been 3rd vs 4th. Both teams are having a nightmare of a season, to the glee of Arsenal fans.
The last time these sides met was in the League Cup in December, where Tottenham almost threw away a 3-goal lead, where Forster got caught on 2 back passes and Evans headed into the wrong net. The eventual winner coming from Son direct from a corner in a thrilling 4-3 victory. It could have easily been 4-0, with all the United goals coming gift-wrapped.
The last 5 head to head between these sides shows 3 Tottenham wins & 2 draws. Add in home advantage and we can’t look away from the hosts. Check Tottenham vs Manchester Utd markets here.
Prediction – Tottenham 1x2 @2.45
